Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Pocketz (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What Pocketz is — and is not

Pocketz is a virtual ledger for tracking allowances, chores, and other family "currencies." Accounts and balances in Pocketz are not real money and have no monetary value.

• Pocketz is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, e-money issuer, or financial institution.
• Balances cannot be redeemed for cash or transferred outside the App.
• We make no warranties about the financial accuracy of any balance.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to create your own account, or have a parent/guardian create one for you.
• By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have authority to accept these Terms.
• If you create accounts for or share with a minor, you accept responsibility for that use.

4. Your account

• Choose a strong password; you are responsible for keeping credentials safe.
• Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or attempt to circumvent security controls.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful purposes or in violation of any law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system, other users' accounts, or any data not your own.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate the App except for personal use.
• Upload malicious code or content.
• Misrepresent virtual balances as real currency to others.

6. Sharing & invites

You may invite others to view or transact on accounts you own. By accepting an invite, the invitee agrees to be bound by these Terms. The account owner may revoke access at any time.

7. Paid features (if applicable)

If Pocketz offers paid plans:

• Subscriptions are billed through the App Store / Google Play according to their terms. Refunds, taxes, and renewals are governed by the store.
• Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to paid plans unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its content, and branding are owned by Michael Ostrovskii or its licensors. You retain ownership of the data you enter; you grant us a limited license to process it to operate the App.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Michael Ostrovskii WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL.

Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; they apply only to the extent permitted by law.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with reasonable notice when practical. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and (where available) by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
