Financial Disclaimer
Plain-language summary: Pocketz is a virtual ledger, like a notebook that adds and subtracts numbers. It is not a bank, payment system, or financial product. Balances inside Pocketz are not real money and cannot be redeemed for cash.
What Pocketz is
Pocketz helps families and households track allowances, chores, screen time, points, and other custom "currencies" between parents and children, or among roommates. All balances are arbitrary numerical entries managed entirely within the App.
What Pocketz is not
Pocketz is NOT:
- A bank or banking app
- A payment processor or money transmitter
- An e-money issuer or stored-value product
- A custodial wallet for fiat or cryptocurrency
- A financial advisor or investment service
- Regulated by the FDIC, NCUA, FCA, ECB, or any banking authority
What this means in practice
- No real money moves through Pocketz. Transfers, deposits, and withdrawals only update numbers in our database.
- Balances cannot be redeemed for cash. A balance of "100 USD" in Pocketz does not entitle you to 100 actual US dollars.
- No interest, fees, or financial services. We do not lend, invest, exchange, or hold real money on your behalf.
- No deposit insurance. There is nothing to insure — no real funds exist.
In-app surfaces
This disclaimer is displayed:
- On the registration screen (a short one-line version with a link).
- In the Settings → About screen (full text).
- In our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Why this matters
Clearly disclaiming Pocketz's non-financial nature:
- Reduces regulatory risk (money-transmitter, e-money, banking licenses).
- Sets correct user expectations.
- Required by app stores when an app uses financial vocabulary ("deposit", "withdraw", "account", "balance").
